Comparative Study

The Comparative Study is one of the three exam components for the IB Art Visual course. It is an independent, critical, and contextual investigation that explores artworks from differing cultural contexts. I I researched Under the Wave off Kanagawa by Hokusai, The Ninth Wave by Aivazovsky, and The Wave by Courbet to examine how different cultures use formal qualities and symbolism in seascapes to depict water.
